Every once in a while a smart roadster or smart crossblade crosses an auction block or is for sale at a specialty car dealership in the USA. This pristine smart roadster comes from Craigslist.
It’s been four years since I last made custom speedometers for smarts...now comes a new wave!
Got a jetski but not a jetski trailer? Harbor Freight has you covered! Yes, the jetski bounced around on the trailer when it hit bumps. There was only a single (limp as a noodle) strap up front keeping it from causing a mess.
Good day to all of you lovely people! Happy Thursday and welcome to our weekly Cross Thread shared across Whitenoise, Hackerspace, Groupthink, Powder Room, Odeck, Tay, Oppo, Backtalk, Clashtalk, CrossTalk, Gawrker, and The Salad Bowl. Details are slim right now, but someone did what I was too scared to do and took the plunge on this diesel. I think they saw my hat tip on the smart forums. They are local to WI, so maybe I’ll help the new owner fix the rust and maybe hopefully get to drive it!
I’ve taken a lot of time thinking about how to write this. While I love to write research reports for fun, I’ve never researched or written anything quite like this. So here is my best attempt. This is the long-delayed second part of my U-Haul series.
Update: Because low cost carriers do not fly this route, I had to take United at $232 for March 24th. I missed the last $180 seat by a hair. I’ll arrive at PIT at 10:13 Eastern and should hopefully have the car by Noon.

This was posted yesterday. Wow...I mean, that price is insane for the work that was put into this car. I know the guy who built it, this thing is basically a daily driver that could even make a hayabusa blush.
I really am going to be making this a yearly thing, aren’t I?
Um...so...My dual Xeon build just hit a snag.
So I replaced them with LED ones...Oh my!!!
I think I experienced a 180 degree turn so hard last night that I’m still experiencing whiplash. I just...I just can’t understand the thinking that went into this conversation..
I scored a free server board recently. Inspired by Project Beigelake, I decided to launch my next project. The board came with a pair of Xeon E5645 CPUs (6 cores each, clocked to 2.4GHz each) and a pair of Xeon E5630 CPUs (4 cores each, clocked to 2.53GHz each).
So...I bought this G3 4 years ago from eBay. The seller sucked at packing the box and as a result, the G3 arrived damaged. The inner bezel (notorious for being brittle) cracked. Thinking I’d just replace the broken part and all would be well, I ended up getting a 50% refund on it. At the time and for at least 2 years…
Hiya to my favourite Kinja denizens! This is your weekly inter-Kinja cross thread at Whitenoise, Hackerspace, Groupthink, Powder Room, Odeck, Tay, Oppo, Backtalk, Clashtalk, CrossTalk, Gawrker, and The Salad Bowl!
I’m considering adding a convertible W450 to the stable. The price is crazy nice at a third of book value. Just needs a couple cosmetic fixes. I may need some help though...
I’m happy you all enjoyed the first installment of my U-Haul series. Due to time constraints, I have decided that the U-Haul series will only be a two-part series. The second installment will be published tomorrow during the final day of the Embiggen Challenge. However today? We reflect back on a few of my favourite…
As you all most certainly know by now, I am the resident fangirl of U-Haul on Oppositelock and potentially even all of Kinja. I’ve been writing various tidbits about them through my own adventures in towing and hauling. However, what you didn’t know about U-Haul might surprise you...
But I’m finally finished with my first piece in my U-Haul series. I can’t wait for everyone to read it! In other news, I made a necklace from an old Xeon processor!
